Mexico Living, Phoenix Pink Jumpsuits and the Casey Summit

I write to you today from the airport in Cabo.  Living in Acapulco and Cabo I always find it funny to meet people at the airport who are all, for the most part, heading home from their vacation.  Tanned and happy looking they always ask me, "How was your stay?"

It always takes me a second to realize what they are insinuating.  "Oh, I live here," is my usual, not very creative answer.

The response back is always about 50/50.  50% tell me that it is their dream to live on the beach in Mexico... but they never seem to realize just how easy it is to do so.  Would you believe I live in a $1 million+ 3 bedroom house that I am renting and have a cook, maid, gardener and driver for a total cost of under $1,600/month?  It's true.

Sell Your Gold, It's Not Backed By Anything!

Do we have it all wrong?  Maybe this woman is right!

Maybe gold doesn't have value because it isn't "backed" by anything!  And, maybe we should buy dollars because they are backed by something...  They are backed by the large criminal organization known as the US Government!

And she makes a good point.  It is also backed by The Federal Reserve.  And they'll definitely be here a few years from now (except if Ron Paul has anything to say about it - and he's getting pretty popular nowadays).

Gold?  Who knows.  It could all just disappear!

The Day Science Died

Last week (in the blog post, Einstein, the Electric Universe and Expatriation) I made mention that after a day of Googling and YouTubing I had come across the concept of the Electric Universe.  In that post, I mentioned that I failed Physics in Grade 10... no big surprise, though.  I never went to child prison.  I realized what it was at an early age.

Gold & Silver Bubbles, Panics and Stink Bids

September 26, 2011

With gold falling more than $300 in the last three weeks from highs over $1,900 to under $1,600 and silver plummeting from over $42 to under $30 in the same time period, the mainstream media was ablaze with talk of popping bubbles.  Of course, the fact that mainstream media has never, in its history, called a bubble top correctly - or even recognized a bubble - is besides the point.

Einstein, the Electric Universe & Expatriation

News came out this week that physicists at CERN, the international nuclear research facility near Geneva,  found that neutrino particles sent on a 500 mile journey got there 60 billionths of a second quicker than the light speed limit allowed.

What's 60 billionths of a second here or there, you ask?   Einstein's 1905 theory of special relativity says that light travels at a constant speed, regardless of how fast an observer is traveling, and that nothing in the universe can go faster than it.If these particles truly did outpace light, that would upend physics as we know it.

The Vigilante's View on the Markets, Gold & Gold Stocks

Times like these are why we are dollar vigilantes.  Talk is incessant about a possible collapse of the European Union - something which we consider to be a certainty.  They can let it collapse now or paper it over again and see if they can keep that dead man walking a little longer.

I used to have a girlfriend of Vietnamese descent.  We really didn't have much in common and she was a little light on intelligence - as can be normal for young girls.  But, she was one of those asian sportscar show models that are quite popular on calendars and on the internet... so I was happy at the time none-the-less.

The Case for Hyperinflation in the US

September 20, 2011

Earlier this month, Gary North penned an article on LewRockwell.com entitled, "Mass Inflation, Yes; Hyperinflation, No".

In it he stated the following:

"The United States is not going to get hyperinflation unless Congress nationalizes the Federal Reserve System.

It will get mass inflation at some point: anywhere from 15% per annum to 30%. But it is not going to get 50% or 100% or more.

Why not?

1. The temporary nature of the payoff2. The fear of getting blamed3. The boom-bust cycle

We are now entering the final stages of the collapse of the western financial system and the democracies and nation-states themselves.  Faced with soaring deficits the western governments have been thrashing around looking at any possible way to stay alive a little longer as their tax milk cows become tapped out.
