The Weekend Vigilante

Hello from beautiful Cafayate,
It has been a liver destroying two weeks here in northern Argentina... but it's been great. Meeting with literally hundreds of very sound, principled, freedom loving people over a neverending flow of fine torrontes and malbec wine and savory Argentine asados has been an excellent time.
The town of Cafayate is such a laid back, relaxed place. Burros walk the streets with the same sense of entitlement to the town as do the citizenry. And the town is home to dozens of dogs that appear to be "homeless" but I am told that almost all have owners, but the owners allow the dogs to hang out in the city in the day. There are a wide variety of these dogs including huskies, german shepherds and many others... and they are as relaxed as the people and the burros. They patiently pick out "their" people at a restaurant and wait until you are done for you to offer them some bones or leftover meat.
For a good look of what the town is like, this is a great video called "I Love Cafayate":
Already the next event here is in the works... I hear it will be in March. From all the interest we've received, the next event will no doubt be "sold out" very rapidly. So keep your eyes open for when the dates are confirmed. Or go to this page and input your email and we'll put you in contact with the event people for La Estancia and they will keep you personally updated.
That said, I'll be very happy to head back to Mexico and try to return to some sense of normalcy. As you can see from the blog for the last two weeks, cocktail parties, asados and fine dinners take their toll on productive output.
But, I'll only be in Cabo for two days before I head north to the Montreal Investment Conference on November 18th and 19th. If you will be at the show please come by and say hi.
TDV AGORA
We held a poll on the TDV Facebook page asking what name you liked best to name our new global discussion groups and "TDV Agora" won by a large margin. TDV Agoras will be a way for like-minded people to meet each other, no matter where in the world they live. We will soon have a TDV Agora page listing all the local chapters. These chapters so far include ones in Chiang Mai, Thailand, one in Patagonia, Argentina and numerous others. If you'd like to start a local TDV Agora, just send an email to michael@dollarvigilante.com. Michael Bach collects the information and will post it on our Agora page soon.
As well, we will be dramatically upgrading our discussion forums and will name it TDV Agora as well, as a virtual meeting place for all dollar vigilantes worldwide.
EMPLOYMENT AND CONTRIBUTION OPPORTUNITY WITH TDV
Thanks to you all, TDV is one of the fastest growing media enterprises on the planet. As such, and as you've likely noticed, I have been practically living on airplanes for many months, with no end in sight as I go from conference to conference and to developments like, what I now call, Doug's Gulch, here in Argentina.
As such it has become harder and harder for me to both write daily and edit all of our work. So, there are two things we are looking for:
1. A writer/editor who eats, sleeps and breathes TDV style content. We don't want an employee... we want someone who is as passionate as we are about the politics, economics and investments that we regularly cover here. The best person would have a strong knowledge of anarcho-capitalist ideas and Austrian economic theory. We would be most interested in a person with youthful exhuberance who wants to start small - in terms of pay - but work their way up with the growth of TDV. The position doesn't need to be full-time but you will need to be always near a computer and be willing to work at irregular hours... when a piece of content or research for our newsletter needs to go out, it needs to go out as soon as possible, so be prepared to be on 24 hour call.
2. Contributors. Do you love the content we produce here and have the writing ability and desire to write articles for TDV on an irregular basis? If so, let us know. The best way to do that would be to write an article. If we like your article and feels it would fit on the TDV blog then we'll publish it. One idea would be to have dollar vigilantes from all over the world who could report in with their anarcho-capitalist or Austrian economics background on happenings in their area. If you live in places like Greece or Germany send us your boots-on the-ground insights on what is going on from a libertarian point of view. If we like your writing and insights, we'll make you our official TDV Correspondent for that region and look to you for info from your regions point of view. This also could include people who live in places like New York City or Oakland and who can file their anarcho-capitalist reports of events such as Occupy Wall Street direct.
If you are interested in working directly with us or being a contributor, send us an email to tdv@dollarvigilante.com.
SILVER CIRCLE
There is a movie in the process of being completed that looks right up our alley! It's called Silver Circle (http://www.silvercirclemovie.com) and is about how a group of rebel freedom fighters take down the Federal Reserve and return the US to a silver standard. The tagline for the movie is, "When they control the money they control everything".
What do you think the odds of Hollywood making this movie are? If you said 0%, you are correct. So, this is being made on a very grass roots level. They are accepting donations to get the movie included in events such as the Sundance Film Festival. Even if you don't donate, they can use your support to spread the word about the movie. Go to their website and sign up to be on their mailing list to keep updated on its progress or "like" their Facebook page here: http://facebook.com/silvercirclemovie.
SCOTT LUTHER GOLD AND SILVER EXPRESS
We recently did a radio interview with the Scott Luther Gold and Silver Express. It is probably one of the zanier radio programs we've been on but it was fun. You can check it out here.
BACK TO NORMAL NEXT WEEK
We'll be back in North America on Monday, something for which our liver will be eternally grateful, and will get back to normal on our blog schedule.
Until then, hasta luego!

Looks like "Cafayate" is a beautiful and peaceful town based from the video. I just hope I could taste some of the wines (If I'm right) featured on the video. Thanks for this great share.
