The Death of Privacy
Share this article on:
You may or may not be surprised to hear this but I am not a big "privacy buff". You've probably noticed this as I've regularly detailed the minutiea of my personal life here for a number of years. I'm certainly not one of those who would protest against Google StreetView for taking photos of public locations. Take all the photos you want, Google.
In fact, if it weren't for government, I wouldn't care about privacy much at all. I want companies to know everything they can about me so they can constantly target their products to my exact preference. If they did that then maybe I'd get a few less spams for discount Viagra every day and a few more for 90% female occupied anarcho-capitalist seastead condo offers. However, I suppose, in that case, I'd then need the Viagra.
But, the problem with privacy arises, as with almost all things, with government. Governments are thieving, criminal organizations who falsely presume to have some right to own you and your property just because you had the misfortune to be born in the particular geographic area where they run rampant. They are extortionists. And it makes sense to avoid giving extortionists any more info than possible about yourself and your assets for fear of even further theft.
But, here is the bad news for all you privacy buffs. Privacy is dead.
It already had one foot in the grave with the rise of the Big Brother state, but now thanks to the internet, it's deader than Aunt Edna on top of the Griswald's Wagon Queen Family Truckster. Facebook alone has almost negated the need for the FBI and CIA surveillance infrastructure completely as was detailed in this Onion spoof which is mostly just funny because it is true.

And with western governments stealing about half of your income and using a sizeable part of that loot to track you at every turn, privacy is mostly a lost cause. Sure there are ways to encrypt your communications to thwart them somewhat (which is something we'll have more info on soon), but for the most part you should consider your financial affairs to be mostly public domain, at least as far as your government is concerned, if you live in the western surveillance states.
IT'S NOT JUST AMERICANS ANYMORE
Those who have been paying attention already know that Americans are the most globally enslaved people in history. We know of not one brokerage on Earth outside of the US that accepts US clients. And the recently passed Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) has all but ensured that most international banks will soon stop accepting Americans as clients for bank accounts also.
What may come as a surprise, but shouldn't, is that all the other western nation-states are following along right behind. Most of the European nations including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and more have all begun to enter into inter-governmental information sharing agreements.
In other words, even having a foreign bank account now will give you no privacy against your own government.
TWO SOLUTIONS
In this respect there are really only two solutions if you want to keep any level of privacy or control of your assets.
One is to keep your assets outside of the financial system as much as possible. This can be done to an extent via keeping your assets in precious metals, strategically deposited at non-financial institutions worldwide. In this regard, The Dollar Vigilante will be releasing an 80+ page Special Report called "Get Your Gold Out of Dodge" in early March with in depth information on how to international your precious metals.
The other way to keep some level of privacy from your own government is to get a second passport. In this way you can open financial accounts worldwide that will not be directly reported to your "home" government. Again, we offer a few different ways to get a foreign passport with varying levels of costs or time frames. Contact us at DRPassports@dollarvigilante.com for more.
PASSPORTS & GOLD AREN'T JUST FOR 007 ANYMORE
Getting a second passport and placing gold and silver in foreign places like Switzerland and Singapore used to be considered in the realm of James Bond. But, no longer.
Today, for anyone who has any assets they wish to keep private or protect from government theft the only sane and rational thing to do is to follow some of the advice listed above because western governments have no limit to how far they will spend and how much they will confiscate from you to pay for their welfare, wars and payola. To them, the world is not enough and your financial affairs are not for your eyes only.

To two of the early comments: People will always do what they can get away with, yes that's human nature. But as you become more educated on how free-markets in anarchy function, the more you will learn how it takes this into account perfectly and has its own elegant checks for it.States got the upper hand coming out of the dark ages of our development by being able to pray upon outlaying rural communities before defenses could be brought to bear (communication and travel limitations) and were able to entrench and fortify their positions before they could effectively defended against. But their positions are more precarious than they may appear and remain at the mercy of the masses. If (when) they lose their positions they will not be getting them back. As soon as the initiation of aggression is socially unacceptable to the masses, just as slavery became unacceptable to the masses, then states will be a thing of history.
America is truely doomed. Where I live, there are cameras on every light post that feed to the local police. Which can be seen by any government agency! If our "founding fathers" were here to see what is happening in this country, they would all probably commit suicide!!!
Most people just do not care as long as they get their fix - usually the idiot box in the corner of the room. Unless you can persuade people away from the TV and all the programming that comes through it they will never develop into normal human beings. Ones with values and principles.
I agree with Annie. I had to quit TV habit once I realized what the TV is really for. I has withdrawal pains. But, not anymore, not for several years. Now, I get a real funny feeling when talking to those still under mental treatment.Absence of TV in my life seems feels like I had shut down a loudspeaker that was forcefully put in my cell. Those still under the programming, seem to never understand the issue. They agree, but they tend to really believe that the lame lame entertainment that they get from the TV is worth something. And when I think about the entertainment offered on TV, it seems to me to be not better grade than say, a game of LEGO.I also like FSK, when he refers to propaganda specialists on TV as to "comedians".Privacy is a big deal for me, and not much is known about me, other than what I choose to disclose. I too have no problem with Zuckerberg, but I do not have and not planning to have an account with facebook (I think personally he is a sucker I would never ever befriend). I tend to think that Wiki-leaks is a CIA operation. In any case, being an Anarchist beginner, I find the poster that portrays Julian Assange as a Robin Hood, to be correct, and thus disgusting. Government and Public Corps has no right for privacy, but private companies in my opinion do.
I agree with George Silver. I also consider myself with some Anarchism in my blood, specially because my desire to be free in my own decisions! But unfortunately, like George stated, there will always be a predator, whether it is the Government or whether it is a fascist corporation that wants to take control over your assets. Since corporations can build their own private armies by paying to private security companies for a private army, there is a window for companies to harass commons citizens of this world and try to gain control over their assets... This is motivated (in my opinion) by two things, common stupidity and pure greed. For me, Anarchism is a motivation, a target, something that we will never reach but an inspiration for everyone to improve themselves and help each other.Privacy, in my opinion, is a birth given right. It's our freedom to decide what do we want to reveal to others, what we know about ourselves or about other persons that trusted in us, to maintain secrecy. This is a simple topic about freedom of decision, nothing more.

The results of the physical and financial controls imposed by the US and its client countries post 911,have been like 'Manna from Heaven',a 'Godsend' event allowing them to impose draconian legislation. The childish notion that 'Democracy' provides free speech, liberty, justice and fair dealings has always been false!Britain is, and always has been a huge prison!,it is simply easier to see now!,more obvious. It was a free country as long as you did as you were told!. If you did not obey you would( & wil) be punished. Now the same applies in the USA. The NDAA 2012 prepares the way to imprison indefinitely & without trial anyone in America. The same already applies in the UK,there sentencing now includes' indefinite detention',something usually reserved for the 'criminally insane',held at 'her majesty's pleasure'.All the measures are in place to control the new 'debt serfs',who were already slaves without realizing it!To counter this threat I would,1, Pay down all credit card debt & destroy the card!.2, Fill your cupboards with as much food as possible,? empty bellies are easy to control.3,Remove your money from all banks, bank holidays will destroy the poor, before any others.4,Pay your mortgage or rent, at least a 2 months in advance.5,Pay any debt that would allow your creditors to send in BAILIFFS.6,If you have the money buy precious metals, keep in your possession,Depositories can be raided and the Bank of International Settlements is located in Switzerland,I would not go anywhere near!.When you see who the enemy truly is,Do Not Feed Him!!.Nothing living in the world can survive without being fed( i.e recieving energy) and that means also the enforcers, when you oppose them you give them energy!!,weaken them by starving them of purpose!.
Before I retired I was in the UK running a branch of a major international airline. I can tell you by my own experience that more is known about the passengers than you would ever dream of. Even more was known about myself because I had to have a close relationship with the police and special branch plus there was political input. The new search "bully-boys" at airports are not for security but for coercion and fear by the government.I, like you, Jeff like to think of myself as an "anarchist". Unfortunately anarchy is an illusion. It might work if there were a majority of reasonable and intelligent people but unfortunately there is not. Human nature is governed in most part by the law of the jungle. There will always be predators. The government is a predator that has over-populated and is killing it's source of survival: the prey animals: you and me. Even if there wasn't an official government a new one would take its place. There will always be people who find it easier to live by taking from others by force. Call it the Mafia or Government they are all the same thing. You can grow armour to protect yourself from the predator but you will never eliminate the predator.Life is a balancing act in which predator and prey need to find a harmony as best they can.Anarchy is a pleasant illusion and something to aspire to when humans have developed enough to handle it. Maybe someday on a new distant planet.
