Comrade, Willeth Thou Return To Thy Motherland?

[Editor's Note: The following is from our Mexican based TDV Education Correspondent, Jorge Gato]
I jump across the border between Mexico and the US a few times a year to visit family and stock up on a consumer good or two. (I'm not kidding when I say that I used to get mail delivered faster to my yurt in the Central Asian desert than I do to Mexico.)
A question I frequently get asked by Mexicans is "Why did you come to Mexico?" To which I reply: "I'm still trying to find the answer to that question."
A question I frequently get asked by US subjects is "When are you coming back to the good ol’ USA?" To which I reply: "You mean Babylon? Never."
As a Permanent Tourist you ponder life abroad and reassess your situation from time to time, weighing your options. By now, I've grown accustomed to life outside of the good ol’ USA and am more comfortable living on the outskirts of the Empire than within its confines. I mean, it’s sunny and warm every day, the house that I rent is less than $300 a month, the beach is a hop and a skip away and my work week is only four days.
A number of factors run through the minds of US subjects who would like to see me return:
a) They envy the courage I had to break free of the status quo and strike out on my own. US subjects occasionally dream of what could have been, had they chosen their own path and not just done what they and everyone else had been told. My returning would make them feel better about their lack of imagination and bravery.
b) Their somewhat concern for my safety, painted by a frightening worldview they've established via tittle-tattle fed to them by the likes of former tabloid news editor and reality TV show host Piers Morgan and Company (a nickname for the CIA). I can’t tell you how many times people have gasped in horror, “You live in Mexico?!”
It's funny, the other day an amigo was pointing out that despite the CIA's "War on Civilization [Drugs]" and all of its casualties, no Mexican school needs armed guards, we're doing just fine. Contrast that to the now monthly school shootings in the good ol’ USA. (Yes, I know, in Mexico 50% of the population is not yet on suicidal prescription pharmaceuticals and the government here isn't known to regularly run false-flag operations, but still).
c) They would like to see me make more money. Ah, the typical American makes an embarrassment of himself when the first thing he asks a native in a foreign country is where they work and how much money they make. As someone once said, a man is not defined by his occupation; neither does he "live by bread alone."
It's comical; one US subject who asks me the question is himself an immigrant who will never return to his country of origin having been grafted into the "American Dream".
The Average Age of Empire
I recently viewed Kirk Cameron's documentary "Monumental" which is a decent attempt at assessing the Empire's decline and what made it great. Despite ignoring the occult beliefs of some of our “terrorist-extremist” patriarchs, Cameron does point out that a key to the nation was faith in God, as the first schools handed out Bibles printed by Congress. Ethics were based on God's immovable law and not on man's shifting morality. This led to individual responsibility, the free market, altruism and ultimately liberty.
Inevitably, man's nature catches up with him. When the average citizen gets too fat, dumb and dependent on the state, their priority shifts from seeking wisdom to running after pleasure and this becomes the turning point of a nation.
The average age of empire is some 200 years. Though free men must stand up to the forces of tyranny and the cowards behind despotism, it's interesting to think about that average age of empire. You're going up against the historical record when you surmise that an empire in decline can be resuscitated to its former glory. I'm talking about nations that have morphed into empires here, not exceptional tiny democratic strongholds like Switzerland. It's not impossible to revive liberty, but the odds just aren't with you my friend.
What happens instead? The oppressed hop the border. The ancient Israelites. Our “terrorist-extremist” forefathers. Soviet dissidents. North Korean escapees. Cuban refugees.
A family friend and Cuban exile once related to us his encounter with Fidel way back when. Apparently, in the early days of the dictatorship, our Cuban friend got into a bit of trouble with Fidel. The bearded leader actually held a gun to his head and was playing around with whether to pull the trigger or not. Suffice to say, our amigo has few polite words with which to describe his homeland, despite how beautiful Havana may be from the perspective of a foreigner.
Some US subjects regularly equate exile with cowardice. Let us apply the same standard of judgment. Most of those few have never had the courage to journey to the remote ends of the earth, drop themselves into a foreign land whose language they did not speak and surround themselves with hostilities of all sorts. And make it. Applying the same standard of judgment, a Permanent Tourist could call the man who never left the comfort of his village and his mom's cooking a coward.
There is more to life than patria. Freedom isn't resigned to a border. Freedom is for all men. It is something you carry with you. I mean, what kept Richard Wurmbrand content and cheerful for 14 years in communist Romanian hell? You can fight for it in your homeland or you can fight for it in the home you've adopted. In the age of information, you can fight for freedom globally. (And no, I don’t mean the Pentagon cyber false-flag operations of “Anonymous” and “Wikileaks”).
At last, you never know, perhaps some of us will pull a Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

I have a question for the author and the posters of this blog.
I just read the following analysis at another site:
"Chavez now controls Argentina, Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Ecuador as well as Venezuela and has big influence in Brazil. He is providing a base for Iran to move into the hemisphere."
I realize that Chavez is in the final throes of cancer right now (and, really, I'm just devastated about that, aren't you?) but in light of this analysis, how safe should one feel about relocation to, say, either Mexico or perhaps Chile??
I'm considering eventual relo to Chile, so I'm just wondering what your collective takes on the subject might be. Thanks!
All I can tell you is that nobody knows.
Another thing I can tell you is that the only time I was robbed at gun point was in the USA. Another time I was robbed at broken vodka bottle-point in Central Asia (which was actually an interesting experience). The worse that has happened to me in Mexico was someone broke into my home while on vacation...and didn't really end up taking anything of much value (I don't own much).
What I can tell you is based on spiritual, economic and political analysis, the USA is undergoing a fascist makeover. I choose to live elsewhere not solely for all of these reasons but for reasons of culture, adventure, certain kinds of freedoms and so on.
There is no one size fits all. It should be an individual choice that is well-weighed, whether you decide to go to Chile or elsewhere, don't simply go because everyone else is doing it, because you might end up unhappy. I'm used to living abroad and I love it.
I very much appreciate your insight, Gato. Thank you.
The opportunity to relocate to Chile in the near future has presented itself to me, so I am very interested to know the insights of others on the subject. Your gunpoint experience was very telling. I have had one of my own in the past. And the current level of desperation and violence in the "great American city" is only going to get worse, so I do believe the time grows shorter for making a choice.
Politically speaking, I suppose there's really no way to hedge one's bets in this game. So I'm just collecting as much anecdotal info as I can in order to make an intelligent leap. Thank you again for sharing your experiences and considered opinion. They were quite helpful to me!
BTW, I would be interested to know how you handle having friends or family "back home." Do you occasionally visit the US? If so, how difficult is that to pull off in terms of customs, temporary visas, etc.?
Cheers
I'm glad I could be of some use.
I go back at least once a year. I've given up on my family & friends. I am shocked to find that most of them have not changed at all, in character, maturity or as persons, since I last left them years ago. Quite sad, actually, they're hanging on to the same old American Dream delusions, living out childish fantasies while the world burns around them, what a waste.
My father joked about me telling him to store extra water. I looked at him in disbelief as if he had never heard of the recent hurricane that hit NY. I no longer preach, I model by example. At least I can be there for them when things get really bad and they'll come crawling with tails between their legs. Of course, I do hold to the commandment of "honor thy father and thy mother".
I don't have any problems with customs and I have a residency visa in Mexico which is renewed annually, so I don't have any worries. I would say try to find a way to obtain some type of residency so you don't have to constantly be worrying about exiting and entering the country. Try to find some job that can vouch for you, even part-time (if possible).
I go through the same thing with my family, all of whom suffer from a major case of normalcy bias. It has recently come to light that Obamacare will be charging smokers anywhere from $4000 to $5000 more per year for their "free" healthcare, a major financial hardship for smokers like myself, but when I tried to explain my concern about it to my family, they just totally blew it off, as if it were just some crazy thing I made up. They have apparently permanently suspended their disbelief while the country rapidly circles the drain.
Like you, I console myself with the thought that if I make wise choices now, at least I may be able to offer them some help if/when the time comes that they need it. Meanwhile, again like you, I have pretty much given up on ever convincing them to prepare for anything beyond TV dinners while watching MSNBC - lol
I work online, and I'm hoping that my job will travel well, but I hadn't considered the angle of snagging a part time job locally to have someone to vouch for me. That's another good tip I'm filing for future reference.
I really appreciate you taking the time to talk with me about these issues, Gato. Once again, you've been quite helpful. Thanks!
pbeukelm,
I agree with everything you said in these several comments.
I also thought of the reason for Iraq war, and I have arrived to the conclusion that it was a religious war, religion being defined here as by pbeukelm, any dumb idea that the person can be indoctrinated with for the benefit of someone else.
Iraq war was fought to show the world what would happen to anyone who dares to ignore the hidden emperor, - the us congress. The latter pays for its extremely lavish lifestyle with "money" it prints at will. These would not be accepted by anyone but the true belivers, if these money weren't forced. They are forced on everyone, but the nations that can somewhat defend themselves (but even they suffer in the end). One of the enforcement mechanisms is the US demand that all oil in the world to be sold only for the paper they can print at will in any quantity.
It is like having the weapon of the God, it is ultimate, and no one else is allowed to have it. Anyway, we do know that Saddam understood this, and being a natural contender for power, sought to challenge the regime twice. First time around he had been threated as if he was dumb, and warned. Second time around, Bush bombed 3000 of it's own to death in order to have the reason to come to Iraq and tear Saddam head off, which he had done, publicly. Of course, he could have sent the assasins, but then the point would not be made to all those who can't sleep thinking of the dollar's domination of the entire world.
So, this was the motivation for Bush war, but what should we call the reason? I mean is the fact that earth exist the reason for war? No, because the earth can exist with or without war. Ok, is dollar then the reason for war? No, because the dollar is necessary but insufficient condition. So, what is the necessary and sufficient condition?
It is the presence of millions of dumb people, and the only way you created dumb people surely is by making them belive, rather than know. This, is religion. Like pbeukelm said, statism is a religion, no different that a belief that molesting children makes one infallible.
--
Think. What does the CIA wants us to believe? That the perpertrator of 9/11 were muslims. Why? Because this way, we must denounce the Islam. Which only a crasy one will do. So, what is it that the CIA wants? Getting it yet?
The CIA wants you to keep your religion (the statism), because you will never find a justification to abolish someone else's religion! Therefore, within the paradigm that was taught to you, you will have to bounce off by demanding that your own religion, too, be respected!
You will be driven to the point where you will gladly give your life to defend what ills you, because that would be your way to spite the face of what you think of your enemy.
I agree with everything except the last line. Anonymous and wikileaks are not "false flags." They are doing good work exposing truths that the government does not want to see the light of day and the government does not like them. Though I could certainly imagine the potential for the government to try to do something nefarious to turn public opinion against Anonymous in the future, to dismiss them now as government false flags is ridiculous.
You should read the links provided on Wikileaks/Anonymous.
Bui bono, who does it benefit? When you really think about it and examine Assange's past, it becomes more believable that is a government operation, given all of the resources and media coverage. I mean, come on, NY Times and Co. ended up choosing the cables for reporting.
Assange reportedly was part of a hacking group that got into the Pentagon...he was caught and never went to jail? Well, then you go to work for the Pentagon...
Nothing of ground-breaking material was released from Wikileaks...most of the cables supported the GWOT agenda.
Anonymous? How are they helping? They are attacking our infrastructure which is giving the government the perfect and precise excuse they need to pass Senator Rockefeller's Cybersecurity Bill.
@PBUKELM To correct you, according to the Encyclopedia of War, religion has only been responsible for 7% of history's wars. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rabbi-alan-lurie/is-religion-the-cause-of-... For example, when George Bush, a member of the satanic Skull & Bones pretends to be a "Christian" and says that God "told him to invade Iraq"...this doesn't count as a religious war, because we all know it was for oil and for the Project for a New Middle East (see General Wesley Clark).
Depends on how you count indeed. 6 million jews murdered I would also count as a religious 'war'. Yugoslavia war was on religious lines, the muslim christian thing being stirred up is also along religious lines. In Germany during the reformation someone described the scene as:"you could hardly pass a tree without someone dangling on it"
The dutch here had a 80 year war with the Spanish, these roman catholics with their inquisition against 'us' protestants. Afterwards we got a large inflow of religious refugees, which greatly boosted the economy. All these europeans that fled to the USA also did after religious persecution in europe. That's why they still object to religion in schools in the usa.
I think that the reason why it is so much easier to bomb Libya, Syria by the usa gvt, compared to say Portugal, is still that they have a different in visible friend in Libya and Syria. Barbarian infidels, that's what they are.
I'd disagree that the war against Iraq was about oil. I once calculated that if you take the total money spend on this war and devide it by the price of olive oil, you could have had more oil than you got from Iraq. The war was in my opinion to take money from american tax slaves and stuff it in the pockets of the military industrial complex. The oil is just a nice bonus. A war only becomes profitable when you privatize the profits and socialize the losses. If a war for oil would be profitable, hedgefunds would organize them. They do not however, because without the possibility to socialize the losses, it is not poriftable.
But since I see statism as a religion, 100% of these wars are caused by religion. The priest had become president. Put a funny hat on and off you go.
In the old days, western colonial rulers went to threaten the 'right' religion into defenseless brown people (christianty) Today western colonial rulers go to threaten the 'right' religion into defenseless brown people (democrazy). Beliefs that are held because of indoctrination and not because of truth content, are bombed into helpless people later on. The bombers were intimidated into their belief when young and vulnerable and when they grow up and see someone vulnerable, they go about intimidating them into the belief they were intimidated into. Learned young, played out as adult.
That's why no one intimidates people into believing Newton's laws of motion. They were not intimidated in, so they are not intimidated out. Univerally valid principles independend of where you are born.
Monumental was great. (I wonder about the Mason junk too, but boat loads of truth speaks for itself) Richard Wurmbrand was over the top excellent. Bonhoeffer too.
What hasn't been mentioned is America in Prophesy. Most keel-hauled 501c3 pastors don't believe this, but Isaiah 18:1-7 is the United States. The rising refusal to submit to the NWO by 2ed Amendment defenders probably foretells the NWO will fail to wrestle the US into submission. In their total frustration they will let loose with whatever causes vrs 4+6.
Sadly, not all that stand up for their 2ed have Jesus in their hearts. Yet that scripture points at the US more than any other nation in the history of mankind. The "taking away'" in vrs 5 can be nothing other than the rapture.
Other than that, here's a really good teacher,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhsmZ-DQ2YQ
And his channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/brilliantbookhouse
I liked Monumental too. Even more, Richard Wurmbrand. And ditto that a Bonhoeffer arise in America. (Ret. General Boykin anyone? I know it won't be him.)
What hasn't been mentioned though, is what prophesy holds for America. See Isaiah 18:1-7. Not your typical keel-hauled 501c3 holder inturpertation. But one that will dove-tail with the increasing refusal to be pushed any further by Americans, namely by keeping their right to bear arms.
How that dove-tails is, the NWO will be unable to wrestle them into submission, and in total frustration, the NWO will resort to whatever causes vrs 4+6. (Most likely nukes.)
Sadly, not all who stand up for their rights have received Christ into their hearts.
Also sadly, the whole world, including the little safe pockets, (think of these as 'dessert' to the Anti-Christ) will fall to the Anti-Christ. To God's praise, Christ will humiliate and destroy him when he returns in the Clouds with His mighty angels, taking vengance on all that by their own words and actions have declared themselves the enemies of God.
God is Love. Christ is Risen. Eternal Life Awaits! You have but to take His hand and follow! Labor now, for God says, the laborer earns wages. Besides which, I want to have something to lay at His precious feet when I get to see Him. Come Lord Jesus!
As an expat from the US to Hong Kong 12 years, and now Beijing 17 years, I also second your keen and accurate observations. ex patria est.
I am always looking at the narratives of identity, the story people tell themselves. I really no longer identify with the "American" narrative and am somewhat embarassed when folks insist on asking where I am from. The Chinese are so brainwashed by their education in a way.. but many are very receptive to anarcho capitalist views..
"Homeland" is just another fraud. Why is my homeland defined by some historical lines on a map? I live about 2500 miles from where I grew up, and though still in the USSA, I live in a completely different culture and climate. I can't really consider this part of the same "homeland" any more than some "foreign" land outside the US. In fact one reason I like the idea of moving to Chile is because it is a lot like Socal was decades ago before it became overcrowded and co-opted by one of the worst Nanny States. It has a lot more in common than this backwater part of the Eastern US where I am now.
I'v always said that everyone and his friend would claim the real reason of the western demise as that becomes more visible. Only libertarians/anarchists have a rational explanation and were saying it all along, but once it happens every astrologist will claim he saw it coming, every animal rights activists will say it is because we did not treat animals the right way, the environmentalist will blame it on lack of regulation, the religious on the empty mosques, the Keynesians on lack of money printing for the elites. In that cacophony the libertarians will not even be heard.

Statism is just another religion. Just like your accident of bearth determines your nationality, it also determines your religion. It is all arbitrary nonsense indoctrinated in little children that keep them both going. If you did not indoctrinate kids with the idea that they had the moral obligation to give halve their income to a criminal gang, they would stand for it, if you only told them when they were 18. Likewise no kid would believe religion when he would only be told at 18.
Not surprisingly both religion and statism have an incredible pile of dead bodies lined up behind them. Just as many sensless wars are fought over 'you are a Frenchmen and I am a German' as there are about 'you are a muslim and I am a christian' or even 'you are a protestant christian and I am a Catholic christian'
Evil ideas have to be propagated through the indoctrination of children and both religion and state do this very effectively, although I would say that in Europe the religion state is winning. This as the advantage that all pedophilia of the priest is finally exposed. However this is also very dangerous, since the presence of only one dominant criminal gang, like in the soviet union, seems to be more harmfull than several competing gangs like state and church.
Luckily Kirk Cameron is widely ridiculed on the internet for statements that creation must be true because the banana is curved and thus made to fit the shape of the human hand.
There exists no immutable law of god, just like there is no immutable common good. These are all concepts manipulated by evil men to control the gullible. Like peacocks they use god and state to impress, make themselves bigger than they are, impose their will on others and derive an income stream of it. It always leads to war and slaughter, because it is nonsense propagated through the indoctrination of children.
So Abraham, sacrifice Isaac on a pile of burning wood, because the voice in your head says that you have to love the concept controlled by the evil priests more than your own son. Sacrifice him as a debt slave to the state. It's all guilt and redemption. Like jesus could ignore the conservation of matter and energy by multiplying bread and fish to feed the masses, so can the state multiply your taxes with the Keynesian multiplier to feed th hungry. The state, the church, they can both feed the poor with magic. Don't believe it, it's a trick to enslave the gullible and lead them to their downfall.
As an expat from the US to Mexico 11 years ago, I second your keen and accurate observations.
