Bitcoin just hit a new all-time high.
Gold just hit a new all-time high.

The Current Situation
As I outlined in the video, we are at extremes in almost everything. Gold just hit all-time highs. Bitcoin just hit all-time highs. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq just hit all-time highs.
The “Warren Buffett” indicator, which is a ratio of the Wilshire 5000 compared to GDP — has also just hit an all-time high of 215%.
We know that Warren Buffett has moved into his largest cash position he has ever held in the last few months... but insiders of publicly traded companies seem to be heading for the hills very quickly now.
Meanwhile, US Treasury auctions continue to fail and go no-bid. In other words, there are no buyers left. And so the Federal Reserve may have to print up more money just to fill the void.
This has led the US Treasury Yield Curve (30-year minus 2-year) to steepen to its widest level since 2021.
This indicator, which measures the spread between the 30-year & 2-year treasuries, has called the biggest crashes of the last 30 years every time it fired off — and it just fired off again at the end of August.
Then, the Nasdaq’s market cap relative to the US M2 money supply has hit a record 176%. This means the market value of the Nasdaq is nearly twice as large as the total stock of liquid money in the economy. The ratio has now exceeded the 2000 Dot-Com Bubble peak by 45 percentage points. Never in the history of financial markets has the rise in stock prices exceeded the growth of the money supply by this much. Alas, total margin debt now exceeds its record in 2021 by more than a 'margin'.
At the same time, the Nasdaq’s market cap relative to US GDP has risen to a record 129%, almost double the Dot-Com peak.
All this is happening as job numbers have been revised DOWN by nearly 1,100,000 since February 2022. These are the biggest downward revisions since the Great Financial Crisis of 2007/2008.
Auto loan delinquency rates are at their highest levels in 14 years.
Mortgage applications are down 34% from pre-pandemic levels and are even lower than they were in 2008.
Construction “quits” — or projects that have stalled — are now at their highest level since 2008. Construction spending is also at its lowest levels since 2008.
Meanwhile, US Treasury yields are at their highest levels since 2008.
In the UK, 30-year bond yields officially broke above 5.70% for the first time since April 1998 — and that’s after the BOE cut rates five times and still ended up with rates at a 27-year high.
And in Japan, 30-year bond yields just jumped to 3.29%, the highest level in history. Say goodbye to the ‘Yen carry trade’.
I could literally go on and on.
Almost everything is at extremes not seen since at least 2008. Do you remember what happened in 2008? If you didn’t know, it was one of the biggest market crashes and financial crises in history.
It was driven by the subprime mortgage crisis, Lehman Brothers’ collapse, and widespread financial panic.
- The S&P 500 fell 56.8% from its peak in October 2007 (1,565) to its low in March 2009 (666)
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped about 54%.
- The crash wiped out trillions in wealth, with the US market losing roughly $7.4 trillion in value at its rock bottom.
Ed Bugos and I predicted that collapse, by the way. And we’ve said since then that the systemic issues that caused that crisis were only papered over ever since.
And now we sit at the precipice.
Because every systemic issue has only increased since then, the next crisis will be much, much bigger.
How Will It Play Out?
Everything in the world is now so much more leveraged and indebted than it was in 2008 that there is simply no way to know exactly how it will play out.
It will end up in the biggest crisis and crash in world history. That much is certain.
But here’s the thing — until it happens, things could still move higher… right up until the moment it ends.
