Move over Amerika – Woke Australia is the new Nirvana of snowflakes and statism and socialist ideals.
(Pre-Covid) Aussies were smug in the belief that if you were born in Australia, you won the genetic and citizenship lotto. Land of naturally blonde Karens, naturally white surfing gods and savage Schutzstaffel (SS) – an Aryan dream come true.
2020’s shadow pandemic, and its overwhelming suicide rate and tsunami of police violence, has demonstrated just how “disturbingly common” violence against women in Australia is. (The United Nations said that, not me)
Australian federal ministers have long referred to domestic violence as a “national scourge”, “a hideous condition” and vowed Australia has “zero tolerance” towards violence against women and children.
But ten years after implementing its 12-year National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022 there’s still no national standard for recording domestic and family violence incidents, nor is there nationwide consistency for recording police call-outs to deal with these situations.
In 2019, South Australian Police (which includes Melbourne) said they were unable to provide a reliable estimate and that “responses are not accurately recorded” because police have to manually update the incident code to reflect it was domestic violence related and that does not always happen…
Yeah.
“Let’s not accurately record this response, mate,” made a lot of sense in September when the Melbourne cops arrested a pregnant mum in her PJs in front of her kids over an ‘anti-lockdown Facebook post’.
Or in the latest incidence of police state insanity in Melbourne: Several cops shoving a pregnant woman and tackling another to the ground before arresting her FOR FAILING TO PROVIDE HER PERSONAL DETAILS! A subsequent statement from the Victoria Police said once her identity was established, she was found to be in breach of the Chief Health Officer directions by travelling more than 5km from her home.Nothing about excessive force and police brutality.
In follow-up news, Melbourne police will continue to maintain a presence at beaches after a furious premier slammed ‘selfish’ residents for not wearing masks and failing to maintain social distance.
