The US Continues To Lead The World in Citizen Defection
Remember back in the '80s where a constant stream of people, including famous athletes, would defect from the Soviet Union to escape their totalitarian regime whenever they got the opportunity?
Today, the USA is more aptly referred to as the USSA and what was formerly the Soviet Union is now called Russia and seen by many worldwide as being the only superpower willing to stand up to the US' War of Terror.
Today, people like Edward Snowden defect from the US to Russia for political asylum after exposing how tyrannical the US government is.
And, today, yet again, the US government released a report showing that it continues to lead the world in citizen defection… or as they call it, renunciation of citizenship.
1,426 American citizens renounced their citizenship last quarter… another record high.
The US now leads the world in all the worst possible categories. The US government is the most indebted government in the history of the world, by any measure, and by a large margin. The US has the most people in prison camps, by a large measure yet again. And the US continues to lead the world in citizenship renunciations.
If you've been watching a little too much television programming you may wonder “why?”
For anyone who has turned off their television programming and is paying attention to the real world the answer is, “why wouldn't you!”
US citizens are now the most surveilled people on the planet. And they are also the most egregiously taxed people on the planet… being one of the only countries on Earth that taxes its citizens even if they left the US and are legally residing elsewhere. In fact, even if you were born in another country and one of your parents was a US citizen at the time you were born you are deemed to be the property of the US and the IRS regularly hunts people down, decades after they were born, even if they never stepped foot in the US, for their “fair share” to pay for all the US empire's countless wars and occupations and socialist programs.
Nowhere else in the world do you hear horror stories such as this woman who's child had three “unexcused” absences from the government indoctrination camps (they call them schools in Amerika) and ended up in leg shackles.
It is already bad enough for many people that they want to get out… and we haven't even had the financial collapse yet which will make today's US look like the land of the free they say it is supposed to be!
HOW TO GET OUT
The biggest two reasons we hear from Americans who want to leave the US but don't for not leaving is a) I don't have enough money and b) I don't know where to go.
Many people don't realize how cheap it can be to live in some other countries. For example, just last week I was in a beautiful town an hour south of Mexico City called Tepoztlan. Don't worry I've never heard of it and can't pronounce it either. But it was one of hundreds of others of small towns in Mexico that was just a pleasure to be in.
According to my friend who lives there, Tepoztlan is quite expensive by Mexican standards due to thousands of hippie-types who have moved there from around the world… it has organic coffee shops, organic markets and is home to numerous natural retreat centers.
As I waited for my VIP bus with plush reclining seats, entertainment units and drink service (at a cost of around $35 for a 4 hour trip) I decided to grab some tacos. I walked down a side street and saw a little hole-in-the-wall family run taco restaurant and ordered 5 tacos and a coke. They gave me one of those 1 liter large coke bottles and 5 delicious, fresh tacos and I asked for the cheque. “30 pesos” he said. That's about $2.
Even in Acapulco, I've seen apartments that people are renting for $200/month that are very nice… and Acapulco is quite expensive by Mexican standards also.
As an American you could take a greyhound bus to the Mexican border. Greyhound, by Mexican bus standards, is very third world but once you get to the border you just walk across and catch one of the VIP buses and you are out. From there to almost anywhere in Mexico would be less than $100 by bus.
As for what to do or where to go, whether it be in Mexico or anywhere in the world, we're already one-step ahead of you.
We have set-up TDV Groups which now encompasses hundreds of people around the world who have already left the US (or the West in general) and made a life for themselves elsewhere. Here is a list of current groups:
Many of the groups are incredibly welcoming and want to help others discover a new life in a less oppressive place than the US. The Acapulco group, especially, has dozens of expats who happily help anyone who wants to get all the inside information before even making the move and they even help people find places to rent when they get there.
Access to the groups is included with a subscription to The Dollar Vigilante, your one stop shop for internationalization, and we continue to offer a special discounted package here. That offer will soon end though so if you want to take advantage of it check it out today.
As well, TDV will be holding a special internationalization and investment summit in Acapulco on February 18th where you can meet first hand hundreds of people who have already expatriated and, from all accounts, don't regret a thing. It is an adjunct to the world's largest anarcho-capitalist conference, Anarchapulco, which you can see here.
The world is actually full of opportunity but every day those opportunities lessen in the US and Europe. Many people still don't see what is going on and likely won't try to get out until it is too late… but you can be a step ahead of the crowd by starting now.
